Classroom Volunteer Training: Wednesday, September 7,4:00-5:30pm at MNHC

Field Trip Training: Wednesday September 21, 4:00-5:30pm at the Fort Missoula Native Plant Garden
VNS Classes: all month long!
School has begun, which means we are starting up our class visits for our Visiting Naturalist in the Schools Program! We need lots of volunteers to help our naturalists teach kids about nature this year.
Our introductory VNS volunteer training is coming up onWednesday, September 7th, from 4-5:30pm at MNHC on 120 Hickory Street. We’ll give a brief overview of the VNS program and you’ll have a chance to sign up to volunteer for classes.
In the month of October, we take our 4th- and 5th-grade VNS students outside on a full-day field trip, and we depend upon volunteers to help us out! We’ll run three stations: Wildlife Hike, Professor Hike, and Adaptation Olympics. At the training at Fort Missoula on September 21st, we’ll review the stations, discuss behavior management, answer questions, and give you a chance to sign up for a field trip (or three!).
If you are not able to attend the training, you can still sign up to help!  Contact me atspotts@montananaturalist.org for more information about VNS, to sign up on our volunteer calendar, or to RSVP for one or both of the trainings.  We have classes in need of volunteers all month long inSeptember.
