Summer Outdoor Discovery Day Camps
We offer 10 weeks of full-day nature camps for kids in pre-K through 5th grade. We also have options for middle- and high-school students to get involved and explore nature with us.
Our summer camps participate in a wide range of nature-based activities. Children will be outside every day! We take time to explore natural areas from the perspective of a naturalist: a scientist, artist, and writer. Each camp will also include games and time for play in the outdoors, which research shows is important for children. Kids can expect to learn a lot while having fun!

miniNaturalist Pre-K Program
The miniNaturalist Pre-K Program engages young children in the exploration of the natural world through fun hands-on activities and games. The program emphasizes observation, sensory skills, and imagination to cultivate a positive connection with nature at an age when children are just beginning to investigate the world around them.
Every session is filled with exciting new activities, art projects, and discoveries. Learn about the wild world of weasels or try to catch felt fish in your feet like an osprey!
Every Thursday, September-May, 10-11 a.m. Come learn and play with us!

Saturday Kids’ Activities
Join us twice a month during the academic year, September-May, for a Saturday Kids’ Activity. These programs feature activities, art, science experiments, and more. Kids might look for Osprey with binoculars, dissect owl pellets, or walk a model of the solar system. Every month features a new topic. The whole family can be involved, as the exploration and activities are suitable for a wide age range.

Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts have the unique opportunity to earn the Montana Naturalist Patch! Our naturalist activities can be done individually or with your troop. When they’re completed, you will be able to purchase a special MNHC patch for $3.50.
