August Topic: Guided Dragonfly and Damselfly Walk with Suzanne Hendrich

CLASS POSTPONED DUE TO AIR QUALITY

Wednesday, August 12

2:00-4:00pm

Location: meet at the Bancroft Ponds

*We’ll hold this event if air quality is orange or better. If AQI moves into the red zone, we’ll postpone for one week, to August 19th, same time, and keep our fingers crossed that the winds will change and clean air will return.

Wednesday morning we’ll send out an email to let you know whether we’re good to go, or will postpone. We hope to see you at Bancroft Ponds!*

View and learn about our dragonflies and damselflies with Suzanne Hendrich at Bancroft Ponds. A guide to local species will be provided. The group will try to net bluets and ID to species “in hand.”

If time allows, the group may also visit Cattail Corner.

Suzanne Hendrich is a master naturalist specializing in studying Odonata. She has taught a MOLLI class on dragonflies and damselflies of western Montana, and leads local walks looking for these amazing insects, oding adventures.

What to Bring:

  • water
  • sunhat, long pants and sleeves, sturdy closed toe shoes
  • insect catching net if you have one

Club hosts: Master Naturalists Sarah Elsasser, Bill Buseman, and Elizabeth Johns
