Share outdoor explorations and learning experiences with other curious naturalists at our monthly Master Naturalist Club! We will connect with experts and hone our skills, meeting at field locations around Missoula.

September Topic: Moths! With Matt Seidensticker

Location: Montana Natural History Center

Mat Seidensticker is a born-and-raised Montanan with broad interests in wildlife research and natural history. He is currently Executive Director of Northern Rockies Research & Educational Services (NRRES), a non-profit organization he started in 2019 to advance scientific research and monitoring of moths and other insects.

Mat will discuss various moth-related topics, including moth natural history, identification, the similarities between “mothing” and “birding”, challenges moths face, and NRRES’s moth-related research on MPG Ranch and the ground-breaking Montana Moth Project.
