Dig In to New Programs at the Fort Missoula Native Plant Garden!
The Fort Missoula Native Plant Garden was designed by a working group of children and dedicated adults in 1999. Today the garden has grown into an impressive outdoor learning space with a three-season classroom. The garden provides a safe environment for children to play and explore along tiny trails or build forts among the trees. Adult programs utilize the variety of native plants growing here, the healthy pollinator population, and diversity of bird species.
Starting this spring, MNHC is offering weekly programs at the garden on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m., and volunteer opportunities are available on Sundays (exceptions noted). See calendar below for dates and details. Additional summer and fall garden programs coming soon!
Our garden programs are a great reminder of how important shared outdoor spaces are in inviting collaboration, sharing knowledge, and building lasting connections with the landscape. We hope you will join in, dig in, and grow this thriving gardening community!
