Become a Member of the Montana Natural History Center
MNHC has updated our membership rates in accordance with the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC). In partnership with ASTC, we are proud to offer our members free admission to over 300 science centers in North America, including the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, and Exploration Works in Helena!
To better serve the unique needs of our members, we have also expanded our membership options in 2026. Please find the membership level and benefits to best fit you and your family.
Membership of MNHC includes these benefits:
- Free admission to our Center and Nature Adventure Gardens
- Discounts on MNHC classes, programs, room rentals, and summer camps
- Priority registration for summer camps
- A 10% discount on gift shop merchandise at our Center
- A subscription to Montana Naturalist magazine
- Free admission to over 300 science centers in North America, including Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman and Exploration Works in Helena, through the Association of Science and Technology Centers. *Does not apply to the Local Special membership tier.
We offer the following annual membership options:
Individual ($40)
• One person only
• Includes free individual admission to partnering ASTC organizations
• All additional benefits listed above
Family Flex ($100)
• Free commemorative thank you gift
• Includes free admission to MNHC museum for up to 10 people per visit (visitors do not have to be from one household)
• Includes free admission to partnering ASTC organizations for up to 2 adults and 4 children at a time
• All additional benefits listed above
The Local Special ($30)
• One adult + one guest per visit to MNHC museum
• “The Local Special” does not include free admission to partnering ASTC organizations. All other membership benefits apply.

FAQs regarding 2026 membership updates
Question: Will my membership type purchased in 2025 be honored in 2026?
Answer: Yes. ASTC will have a grace period through 2026. Members who purchased in 2025 will have their memberships honored until their original expiration date. Membership prices and group limits will not change until you renew in 2026.
Question: Why are memberships changing?
Answer: ASTC has set a minimum cost and group limits to create a standardized admission policy and equity among all ASTC member organizations across the country.
