SUMMARY:Plant Baby Plant: A Bloom with Robin Wall Kimmerer
DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, August 2\nTime: 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.\nLocation: Native Plant Garden at Fort Missoula\nCost: Free and open to the public. Registration is required. \nREGISTER HERE! \nJoin Robin Wall Kimmerer and MNHC to roll up your sleeves with your community! Connect with – and learn from – the land by getting a little soil under your nails and sweat on your brow! We’ll come together at the Native Plant Garden at Fort Missoula to mulch the garden\, plant wildflowers\, and repair wildlife-friendly fences. This event also includes guest Tim Ryan (CSKT) and is capped at 200 guests. \nPlant Baby Plant and its community Blooms are part of a grassroots movement led by Robin Wall Kimmerer that invites people to reimagine our future through acts of care for the living world. In other words\, to Raise a Garden and Raise a Ruckus! \nThis event is in partnership with IndigiPalooza MT. This is not a book-signing event; this is hands on gardening where plants are the star of the show!  \nRobin’s books are available for purchase and signing on August 1st at the Wilma during IndigiPalooza MT. \nPlease dress for the weather\, bring a water bottle\, and a camp chair\, and prepare to get dirty. Activity levels vary from medium to more challenging (specifically regarding fence repair). Porta-potties are available. \nRobin Wall Kimmerer\nDr. Kimmerer is the author of the acclaimed Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom\, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants\, a New York Times best seller for 288 weeks and counting. Her newest works\, The Serviceberry and Bud Finds Her Gift\, continue to inspire readers of all ages to rekindle their relationship with the living world. She teaches at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry\, where she is the founder and Director Emerita of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment.
