Sip & Sketch: Gratitude Art Journaling

November 6, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$30 – $35

Spend an evening with artist Kate Crouch exploring your connection to nature through gratitude exercises, journaling, and the creation of a layered journal art piece.

November is gratitude month. It is a time when we can reflect on what is bringing us happiness in our daily lives and the richness of what we already have. Practicing gratitude can help us focus on optimism, love, and joy while improving our resilience and health. Join artist Kate Crouch as we explore gratitude through a layered art exercise.

In this class, participants will create an art gratitude journal. Using images, drawings, stencils, paint, pen and ink, and a variety of other materials, we will build artistic collages that share stories and capture the things we are most grateful for. You’ll have time to experiment with texture, pattern, shape, and color throughout the evening. The journal will become an art piece that you can continue to build on over time in your own gratitude practice.

Kate Crouch has been teaching nature-based studies, art, yoga, and mindfulness for children and adults since 2002. She started her own Mindful Art Education business Mind Your Self in 2017. Her passion is encouraging students in the discovery of unity between themselves and the natural world. Kate has a Master’s degree in Arts Integration from the University of Montana, and has led educational programs for ZACC, SPARK Arts, and the Montana Natural History Center.

MNHC will provide all materials and supplies but participants may bring in additional photographs, images, stamps, stencils, or natural objects suitable for collage-style artwork. Two glasses of wine, beer, or soda, and light refreshments are also included in the program. So sit back, sip a beverage, and get creative!

Cost: $30 for MNHC members, $35 for non-members.

Registration is required. Tickets will be available October 1st. Purchase tickets HERE.

Cancellation policy: The course fee (minus a 25% administrative fee) is refundable if a cancellation is made up to 7 days before the event. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this deadline.
