Saturday Kids’ Activity: We Love Bugs!

May 13, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Do you love bugs? We sure do! Spend the afternoon with MNHC’s bug collection. You will get to study specimens, collect some of your own bugs to view, and find out fun facts as you go. We will have watercolor pencils and paper available for you to create a beautiful bug work of art. Look at arachnids and insects, diplopods and isopods (millipedes and pillbugs), and maybe even annelids (worms). Find out how to tell the difference between our common bugs!

We will also be celebrating Endangered Species day by planting a monarch’s favorite food: milkweed. Help out the monarchs and plant a young milkweed at our Nature Adventure Garden. You find a monarch butterfly in the garden someday! Thank yo to the Endangered Species Coalition for their help with this important project!
