LOCATION: MEET AT UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA’S “M” TRAILHEAD
Date: Saturday, June 27
TIME: 9:00 AM – noon
Spend the morning birding the Hellgate Canyon and riparian bench along the Clark Fork river with retired National Bison Range ranger, Pat Jamieson. This program will be enjoyable for all background levels though tips and guidance will be especially geared to the beginning and intermediate birder. Pat is an excellent instructor with years of experience and will help you gain and practice skills.
The combination of forested canyon and riparian habitats provides a great diversity of birds. You will likely see or hear yellow and yellow-rumped warblers, Eastern kingbirds, Western wood-peewees, spotted towhees, ruby-crowned kinglets, various species of swallow, and many more.
We will be able to maintain social distance along this trail and can safely enjoy the birds outside.
