Beginning Birding is part of our summer “Introduction to Nature” series. Take one or take them all!

Walk along the Kim Williams Trail riparian area with birder Pat Jamieson as you look and listen for some of our brightest summer birds. Yellow Warblers, soaring Osprey, darting Tree Swallows, and loquacious Catbirds can all be found during this scenic stroll. This class is perfect as an introduction/refresher to bird identification. Pat provides helpful pointers and tips to increase your skill. She also describes the colorful natural history of the birds you see. Find out how to make the most of identification apps and bird guides so you can recognize the birds you encounter!

Easy, level stroll, 2-2.5 miles round trip

Instructor: Pat Jamieson is a naturalist, avid birder, and retired National Bison Range park ranger. She has taught audiences of all ages and especially loves sharing her vast knowledge of birds.
