SOLD OUT! Hunting & Gathering Lecture Series: Edible Plants
April 25, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pmFree – $10
This lecture is SOLD OUT!
Note: You can call us (327.0405) and put your name on the waitlist. Also, we will inevitably have a few no-shows the night of the lecture, so show up early to get one of the limited number of tickets we’ll sell at the door.
Join us for an exploration of hunting and gathering, from food and medicine to the naturalist’s habit of creating collections. Each of our six speakers will share their expertise, from identification and use of the object of the hunt to identifying the landscape or phenology clues that will help hunters and gatherers to find what they’re looking for.
Our third speaker is Thomas Elpel, Author, Builder, Educator, and Conservationist. He is the founder/director of Green University, LLC and the author of Botany in a Day: The Patterns Method of Plant Identification and six other books. Join us for his lecture, Edible Plants: Foraging the Mountain West, based on his book Foraging the Mountain West: Gourmet Edible Plants, Mushrooms, and Meat. Learn about local edibles, the forager lifestyle, and how to eat better and spend less. Learn to harvest and celebrate nature’s abundance. Discover new delights you will never find at the store. Connect with nature on a deeper level by meeting, greeting, and eating the plants, fungi, and creatures that share the neighborhood. Become a little more self-sufficient, and a lot more aware!
