Community Discovery Day: Pattee Canyon Nature Walk
October 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 amFree
Head out into the woods with a naturalist as your guide! This easy-going nature walk is perfect for all ages. We will discover the evidence animals leave behind and get to know the plants and trees of Pattee Canyon. Chickaree squirrels and chipmunks, pine siskins, ravens, and Northern flickers may make appearances. Hear ponderosa pine’s fire story and learn how to identify our most common shrubs.
This is a very flexible nature walk. Feel free to walk the entire path with the guide (about 3.4 miles, 350 ft. elevation gain) or turn back at any time. Bring picnic lunch for after the program if you like!
We will have binoculars available for use.
