Gain some altitude and a get a beach-side view of Glacial Lake Missoula. We will hike the Mount Jumbo trail to the Glacial Lake Missoula elevation marker approximately 900 feet above the valley floor. Imagine the unfolding landscape covered by the ancient glacial lake as you gaze to the west. Find out how this lake formed and the evidence it left in its rapid draining with geologist Bruce Baty. We will discuss how two geologists, Harlan Bretz and J.T. Pardee, put the clues together and the questions that remain today.
