This course is for families with children aged 9 and up.

Description:  Missoula is home to dozens of bird species, many of which are found in our own backyards. In this class you and your child (10+ years) will work with a Master Naturalist to identify 20 species of common birds by sight and by song. This is a 2-part class. The first session is in the classroom where you will learn birdwatching basics using a variety of techniques including Bird Bingo. The second session will be in the field birding together! Binoculars are available to borrow.

Bio for Elena (Instructor): Elena Ulev is a Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide with over 30 years of experience conducting bird surveys and birding for fun. She is an avid eBirder, logging 180 species in Missoula County to date. Elena uses a variety of techniques to help all ages and experience levels learn how to identify birds by sight and by sound.
