Tracking Workshop

Saturday Discovery Day

Join us for a SUBERB introductory tracking class this Saturday.

Topics include:

  • how to identify and interpret wildlife tracks in the snow
  • basic habitat requirements
  • gait patterns
  • natural histories of various wildlife species
  • forest carnivore ecology
  • winter plant identification, and much more.

Participants will leave this workshop with the skills needed to begin deciphering animal stories written in snow and will gain a deeper understanding of winter ecology.

Date: Saturday, February 4th

Time: 9am-4pm

Location: Meet at the Montana Natural History Center, 120 Hickory St. We will travel by MNHC bus to an area near Ovando.

Cost: $60 MNHC members/$65 non-members
