2008 Montana NATURALIST CLASS

Have you ever wanted to be a better
Naturalist? In this class you will develop the skills
that constitute the core of the craft: Ecological Literacy,
Observation and Identification, Journaling, Sense of Place,
and Mentoring.
You will learn the skills of identification
from local experts and practice the art of field
sketching and keeping a natural history journal. You'll develop
your own naturalist toolboxes to use in the field and in
the classroom.
If you are interested in knowing the natural
landscape more intimately, or teaching others about it,
this is a perfect introduction to a wide set of skills and
knowledge. This course will run through the entire semester
as we trace the progress of spring.

Monday evenings from 5:00 – 8:00 pm beginning January
21, includes 2 Saturday field trips in April.
- Location: The University
of Montana - Missoula
- Cost: $295, includes all
materials and field transportation. NOTE:
Registration is not allowed on CyberBear or through Continuing
Education. You must register with MNHC to confirm your
spot. Space is limited. 3
credits available through Continuing Education for $135,
to be paid to this University department separately. $50
non-refundable deposit to MNHC is required to hold your
spot in this course, no exceptions.
