Sip & Sketch: Scientific Illustration

September 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$25 – $30
pen and ink drawing of a mushroom

Because the September 26th program filled so quickly, we decided to open up a second one on Tuesday, September 25th!

Learn the art of scientific illustration from Sean Edgerton. He will set you up for success by starting with simple methods and help you approach both the living and non-living parts of nature, plants, and animals from an observational standpoint. Practice a field sketching technique and learn how to build complex figures from basic, approachable shapes. Note taking will be emphasized to fully practice observational skills as if one was drawing out in the field.

Sean Vidal Edgerton is a science illustrator and biologist with a passion to blend the worlds of art and science. He creates art in the service of science, education, wildlife conservation, and awareness. Sean’s focus is on the beauty of natural history and organisms in dire need of our conservation efforts. Charles Darwin’s “endless forms most beautiful” represents the core of his work and dedication to wildlife conservation and his roles as a science illustrator and biologist.

Get ready to enjoy a wonderful evening sipping a beverage and creating a beautiful illustration.

Tickets include 2 drinks (wine, beer, soda), light refreshments, and art materials.
