Saturday Kids’ Activity: Wonderful Bird Wings
September 22 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree with admission
Wonderful Bird Wings
Explore the majesty of bird wings through specimens, activities, and art. The Montana Natural History Center has a large collection of wings to examine, from the very small (hummingbird) to the very large (great blue heron). Learn how different bird wings function to provide soaring, silent flight, speed, and hovering.
You will have a chance to actually flap wings and feel their lift, examine them under a microscope, see their skeletal structure, and design your bird based on how you want it to fly.
