Community Discovery Day: Glacial Lake Missoula Features in the Bitterroot Tour

Community Discovery Day with the Glacial Lake Missoula Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute

Take a free tour down the Bitterroot Valley led by Glacial Lake Missoula chapter members and George Furniss, Bitterroot College geologist. Identify Glacial Lake Missoula features in the southern Bitterroot, Lake Como, and Lost Horse area as you learn more about this amazing geological phenomenon.

Meet at the Montana Natural History Center to carpool down the valley. There will be a stop in Hamilton. This is an all day trip.

What to Bring:

  • Lunch, snacks, water
  • Clothes appropriate for changing weather conditions, layers
  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
